Our Story

HI, MY NAME IS

Guramrit LeBron (she/her)

I am a Certified Lactation Counselor (soon to be IBCLC), in addition to being a birth/postpartum doula and co-owner of Ashe Birthing Services and the co-founder of The Bridge Directory.

After studying Magazine Journalism at Syracuse University, I spent the first few years after college working at various publications, including Parenting Magazine, before transitioning into marketing. I also completed training as a holistic health counselor while publishing my first cookbook, Yogi Eats.

It was through my interactions with my audience and clients, many of whom were pregnant or birthing people, that I became involved in birth work. I jumped right in and immediately felt in alignment. Though my professional life has spanned many different industries, each path shared the common denominator of amplifying the voices of those in under-served communities, especially in New York City and throughout New York State.

Nurturing, educating, and uplifting families during transformational moments are essential to my work as both a doula and a lactation counselor. My commitment to this has only been deepened by becoming a mother to a son and daughter. Through our breastfeeding journeys, I was inspired to seek additional training and mentoring in Tethered Oral Tissues (TOTs) and airway health.

When I'm not working with patients, I'm pursuing a master's degree in Infant + Maternal Nutrition with a focus on a holistic approach to pregnancy, postpartum, and infant/toddler feeding. I'm also pursuing my certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and am honored to have received the Fall 2023 IBCLC Education Scholarship from the US Lactation Consultants Association.

I see lactation and feeding patients at Maryam in the Bronx and offer home visits in and around Dutchess County, Putnam County, the Bronx, Harlem, UES & UWS, Westchester, and Queens

I currently see lactation patients through Ora Infant Feeding. Please schedule here.

Testimonials:

Guramrit was/is the MVP in our lactation journey. I’m currently 10 weeks postpartum and breastfeeding and pumping exactly as we wanted by this point. She helped us reach our goals while leading us but letting us lead the way if that makes sense. Cannot recommend Guramrit and Ora Feeding enough for lactation needs.

I’d recommend Guramrit to anyone struggling with breastfeeding. My first session with her was the morning after I got in contact. She gave me solutions to implement and it made a big difference right away. The support was much more specific to our issues than what the lactation consultants were able to do at the hospital. Now 3 months in my baby is breastfed and is growing great. Since our first session, Guramrit has always been one text away promptly responding to all my new mom concerns. I am so thankful for her expertise and guidance. Without her I would have given up on breastfeeding a long time ago.

Guramrit was a lifesaver for us in the early days. She helped me work through the pain and low milk transfer that comes with oral restrictions, all with kindness and empathy. She was the perfect balance of compassion and “let’s make a plan,” which is exactly what I needed. She helped me think through how I wanted to breastfeed and was open minded in her approach, knowing I had two older kids at home and would be going back to work soon. She was super responsive via messaging and the Ora team was super accommodating with appointments.

With her guidance, Guramrit connected us with a bodywork specialist, guided us through the tongue tie release process, taught us post-release exercises and showed us suck training to improve our baby’s ability to transfer milk. After working with Guramrit, our baby, went from only being able to transfer .5 ounces at a time to being able to get 4 ounces per feed. Thank you for all your help Guramrit and team!
